Google Playground - Write Eligibility Before You Prompt

This chapter writes the eligibility line the page shows. The next chapter runs <strong>one prompt and one play</strong>. Publishing to Explore, and claiming Unity Spark, are not part of either chapter.

Why this matters now

On <strong>October 7, 2026</strong>, Google published <a href="https://blog.google/innovation-and-ai/technology/ai/playground-experimental-gaming-platform/">Introducing Playground</a>. Playground launches for users in the U.S. (18+) at playground.google, with tiered creation access based on a Google AI subscription. <a href="https://unity.com/spark">Unity Spark</a> stays in testing, with closed beta coming soon.

<strong>You will do:</strong> open Playground and copy the eligibility line you see.

<strong>Time:</strong> about <strong>8 minutes</strong>.

Prerequisites

  • A browser
  • The Google account you would use to create

Write what the page shows

  • Open Playground at the address in the Google post.
  • Read the eligibility or access line on the screen. Copy that sentence. Do not replace it with a guess.
  • If the account cannot create, stop. Do not use a workaround to pretend you are in the U.S. and 18+.
  • Leave Explore unclicked. Leave Spark unclaimed.

<strong>Check:</strong> the copied line is what the page showed, or you have stopped because this account cannot create.

Common mistakes

  • Typing “US 18+” when the screen said something else.
  • Opening a live Unity project because the prompt box was slow.
  • Clicking a community gallery before you know you can create.
